Sameer Eione Cuan Darcy Bodhi Eurybia Felix
all of them share one enormous house on the beach that Sameer owns. he has kind of ended up unexpectedly with a number of unruly roommates, but as he's adjusted to their companionship he's begrudgingly found he likes living with them. Eione literally crawled out of the sea and Sameer befriended him thinking he could wish him home; and by the time he realized the man was a nymph Eione was too attached to leave. Cuan came much the same way, bumbling into them on the beach, attaching himself to Sameer instinctively when he realized the djinn's power. Darcy joined them on a quest to prove to his fellow witches that utilizing energy from other supernatural creatures wields far more power than willfully murdering mortals, and Bodhi meandered into their home as though he'd always intended to live there (which, to him, he always had). Sameer and him share a common history that's allowed his joining to be unusually smooth. Eurybia is Eione's little brother, the only other male sea nymph in existence; and he followed his brother out onto land to see what he could find. [update incoming w/ Felix]
relationships ;;
Sameer and Eione;; Sammer thought Eione was human and befriended him in an attempt to get Eione to wish him home. by the time he realized Eione wasn't human at all, it was too late to shake the other's attachment to him. they currently live together, as Sameer lives on the beach and Eione doesn't yet want to return to his underwater kingdom. Eione has no concept of personal space and is always crawling into Sameer's bed or kissing him on the face or trying to hold his hands, and pretty much everyone assumes they're dating. Sameer has adjusted to Eione's insufferable behavior and doesn't even bother correcting people anymore.
Sameer and Cuan;; similar to Eione's introduction to Sameer's life, Cuan attached himself to Sameer without much consent from the latter at all. Cuan lives with them now; he yearns for a pack, and he gets a relationship that's close enough with the other four all bracketing him in. Cuan is very submissive to Sameer and appreciates the other man's no-nonsense, aggressive attitude. he's protective over him but also obeys Sameer without question, as he sees him as a sort of pack leader. like Eione Cuan likes being physically affectionate with Sameer, and will sometimes try to wheedle his way into Sameer's bed. not for any romantic reason, but because Cuan hates sleeping alone.
Sameer and Darcy;; Darcy bothers Sameer the least, out of all the others. he's more into being a scientist than a friend, so he spends more time observing Sameer than he does talking to him. Sameer is fine with this; Darcy's presence isn't much of an annoyance and he's good at giving him space, which is more than what Sameer can say for Eione and Cuan. Darcy carries around a clipboard everywhere to take notes on, and Sameer has adjusted to the insistent pencil scratching. he also helps Darcy with his 'experiments', when he asks for it; he resolutely refused initially, to avoid getting entangled in the younger man's project, but he was won over by Darcy's sheer excitement for his thesis. he performs magic routinely for him now.
Sameer and Bodhi;; Sameer and Bodhi met many years ago. Sameer had yet to be imprisoned and Bodhi was en route to a city he knew needed his help when they bumbled into one another in the desert. Sameer, intrigued by Bodhi's abilities and blindness, granted him vision; and this vision lasted for a few weeks, until Sameer was caught and all previous wishes redacted. Bodhi has been looking for Sameer ever since, as he found the djinn's selflessness fascinating. When he finally caught up with Sameer all those years later he found someone unexpectedly cynical and uninterested in granting anybody's wishes unless they gave him something in return. despite the change of heart they fit together very well still; now they simply complain about the same things, and both find great joy in remarking loudly over their roommates' faults.
Sameer and Eurybia;; ...
Eione and Cuan;; Cuan sees Eione as more of an equal than he does a lead, so they get along remarkably well. Cuan likes touching people and so does Eione; they spend a lot of time wrapped up together on the couch watching dumb reality tv shows that Sameer won't tolerate. Cuan likes going down to the beach and watching Eione swim, although he rarely joins him in the water. Cuan finds Eione's smell very pleasant, and likes to stretch out in the sand beside him with his head resting on Eione's leg or arm, breathing him in. Sameer usually allows them in his bed (with a great show of reluctance) and mostly Cuan and Eione cuddle together, with Cuan sandwiched between Eione and Sameer.
Eione and Darcy;; Eione finds Darcy fascinating. he'd never met a witch before him, so he rather than get annoyed at Darcy's endless questions Eione became endeared of him. he's also always willing to show off, and Darcy is such an interested audience that Eione can never say no. Darcy touches Eione a lot, which doesn't bother the latter the least, but Darcy finds the texture of his skin so very interesting. Eione is very physically affectionate and Darcy is not as much so, but Eione has turned touching him into a game. he'll lay a hand on his shoulder or arm and wait for Medea, his familiar, to notice this transgression; and then he'll move away laughing when she scurries down Darcy's arm to bite him. when Eione is having trouble getting to sleep he comes and lays in Darcy's bed and makes him recite whatever new pages he's added to his thesis.
Eione and Bodhi;; Eione is not at all how Bodhi expected, given the man's history. their personalities clash somewhat (Eione is about as flippant as Bodhi but far kinder) but they get along well enough, given that they now live together. although Eione remains ignorant to this Bodhi has intervened in his parents attempting to drag him home some half dozen times now, and insists they give their son more space. while Bodhi makes a show of avoiding Eione in the house he pays a great deal of attention to the nymph's futures and manipulates them to allow him to stay. he always has a habit of cooking fish and then discarding it, saying loudly that he messed up on the recipe or the like; these dishes are always cooked to Eione's tastes and are delightful to him. Eione has once brought Bodhi a sea shell and said only that perhaps he could keep it alongside the sand in his locket.
Eione and Eurybia;; ...
Cuan and Darcy;; Cuan has never been shy with what he is, but he's smart, and survival is important to him; so it took forever until he reluctantly agreed to Darcy's excited babbling that Cuan was a werewolf. he will not do anything that Darcy asks of him (including sniffing/tracking something, transfoming, showing off his other abilities, etc) except when Sameer asks Cuan to play along. because Cuan sees Sameer as his alpha he does as he is told, but he does it with great reluctance. due to this Darcy has put some space between them; he tries to ask Cuan about things unrelated to being a werewolf, and Cuan tolerates his presence much better. Cuan loves the smell of Darcy's magic, and also likes when Darcy 'bleeds' energy from him; he says it helps him relax when the wolf is high.
Cuan and Bodhi;; Bodhi reminds Cuan so much of Sameer that the wolf has practically married them in his head and considers them both his alphas. while he generally prefers Sameer (as at least he will tolerate Cuan touching him) he likes Bodhi's reserved nature. Bodhi is also far more aggressive than Sameer in an unexpected way; when a witch visiting Darcy recognized Cuan for what he was it was Bodhi who intervened and rather impressively beat the witch about the shins with his stick. thus when Cuan is scared or unsettled he goes to Bodhi, who sometimes senses this about him and occasionally will even pet his hair.
Cuan and Eurybia;; ...
Darcy and Bodhi;; the first thing Bodhi noticed about Darcy was that he was a witch. the second thing was that he had an unusually unpredictable future, and that he was going to give Bodhi a headache if he stuck around for too long. Darcy is on the precipice of a discovery that will change the nature of witches and Bodhi recognizes this but he can't hurry the process so he kind of just manipulates Darcy's futures as best he can to ensure the best will happen. Medea actually quite likes Bodhi and encourages Darcy to speak to him; Bodhi is powerful in his own right, and bleeds off more energy than nearly any of the others.
