Eurybia is a Nereid. Greek mythology always implied that the sea nymphs were singularly female but Eurybia knows personally that isn't true. While there are very few male Nereids (out of the fifty children of Nereus and Doris, only two were male) they do exist. With his sisters Eurybia lives in his parents' enormous golden palace beneath the sea, although he left the ocean some twenty years ago to better explore the shore. Eurybia is capable of being away from the ocean although he does require some hydration at least once a day. Should he miss it he becomes somewhat sluggish and tired; his reflexes are dramatically affected and he's prone to dozing off. He is capable of being underwater for long periods of time although it's not so much that he has gills but rather that he "breathes" through his skin, much like amphibians do.
He has a special affinity with water and has some meager control over it, although it is nothing close to what some might imagine. Eurybia can smooth water out or worsen the seas. His abilities are greatly affected by his mood. Like all Nereids, Eurybia's skin is weird to touch and is incredibly smooth one way and rough the other. His skin is meant to mimic that of sharks to ease his progress through water though people usually chalk it up to some sort of lingering rug burn they're feeling. When pet the 'wrong' way Eurybia feels kind of sandpaper-y. His hair dries very quickly but remains malleable even when soaking wet. He has to keep himself wet internally as well as externally and so he's always drinking something, more often than not water. He has no preference over temperature or general salinity and can tolerate saltwater as well as fresh.
Eurybia weighs in at about 350 pounds due to his unusually thick bones. It's probably a natural guard against the pressure of the deep seas, but it does get annoying sometimes on land. While Eurybia can easily survive a trek to the bottom of the ocean he has to skip on elevators lest his added weight outstrip the limitations on the machine. Eurybia is also stronger than the average man, both to be able to support his own body weight and so he can swim faster and with greater ease. The thicker bones do help prevent him from breaking something when he falls, however. Also to help aid him with deep-sea exploration Eurybia's eyes have been specially evolved to allow him to see in the dark. His pupils are able to widen out and engulf his entire iris, allowing Eurybia to see when there's very little light. His blood is a dark bluish-violet color because of how little oxygen it holds, and when he bruises it always blooms black. It should be noted that when Eurybia blushes his cheeks go a tad lilac, but thankfully he doesn't blush often.

Eurybia is very little like his brother. He's younger and quieter; he's far more submissive than Eione, and cannot be easily roused to anger. Eurybia came to the surface to explore the world, and he's thrown himself into the adventure wholeheartedly. He's always up for doing something new and does so with great excitement; he's got a particular soft spot for eating new foods. (Given that he has only eaten seafood his whole life, his meals provide the house with daily entertainment.) He's open with his feelings and never shy about telling someone what he's thinking or feeling, and he contributes to conversations with his friends (the rest of the house) without hesitation. But to strangers Eurybia is almost painfully shy. Despite his enhanced general faculties he's nervous around humans and flinches when he comes close to being touched, like he thinks they'll hurt or infect him. Eione thinks it's hilarious and has admitted to the house that he probably instilled that fear in Eurybia; he used to tell his siblings horror stories on humans when they were all children, making up things when he ran out of the stuff of legends. Eurybia has never fully recovered from his initial opinion on the species, and dislikes greatly being left alone with one.
But he's extraordinarily curious, and even his inherent fear of humans can't curb that. He's all about new experiences, new sensations, new things; he loves going into town with the boys and just wandering through stores touching whatever he's allowed to, feeling shirts and stones and scarves. He loves trying on shoes and considers them one of man's most important inventions. Although he likes the look of them he refuses to wear them, and goes barefoot everywhere he can get away with it. He is naïve to the human's society and always learning new things about their manners and expectations; and he finds it fun but difficult. Eione has asked the household at large if they will make sure Eurybia always has somebody with him; Eione doesn't trust his brother's guileless nature, and worries that someone may take advantage of his endless curiosity. If Eurybia is aware that he's never left alone he's never made mention of it. Mostly he welcomes the company; he's used to always having a sister in tow, given the sheer number of them, that being alone at all is just surreal.
